Elmhurst, NY – January 22, 2026 – The Five Towns College men's basketball team delivered a commanding performance on the road Thursday evening, defeating Vaughn College 72-46 in conference action at Elmcor Recreation Center.
The Sound set the tone early, building a 39-20 halftime advantage behind defensive pressure and balanced scoring. Five Towns held Vaughn to just 27.5% shooting from the field and 15.0% from three-point range while forcing 26 turnovers and collecting 22 steals in a dominant defensive effort.
Leading the way was Myles Gregory, who poured in a game-high 19 points on an efficient 8-of-13 shooting from the field. Gregory added 2 assists and 2 steals, providing a steady offensive presence throughout the contest.
"Myles gave us great energy and efficiency tonight," said the Five Towns head coach. "He took smart shots, finished strong at the rim, and let the game come to him. That's the kind of performance we expect from our leaders."
On the glass, Curtis Redding controlled the paint with a double-double effort of 11 points and a game-high 14 rebounds, including 7 offensive boards that created key second-chance opportunities.
Tyrese Grant contributed 12 points and 5 rebounds, while Marvin Reed added 11 points and went a perfect 5-for-5 from the free-throw line. Five Towns shot 45.0% from the field and an impressive 81.8% from the charity stripe in the win.
The Sound outrebounded Vaughn 53-30 and showcased a complete team effort, totaling 16 assists in the victory.
With the conference road win, Five Towns continues to build momentum as it heads into the heart of league play.
